Hey there!

I’m Mike Grunwald,

the person behind Mike Motion Design.

Born and based in beautiful Amsterdam. I help brands bring their ideas to life through animation that’s clear, engaging, and crafted to stick— mixing creativity with structure and a love for storytelling and animation.

With a blend of creativity, production skills and project management, I make sure the process is smooth and efficient. Quick communication, fast turnarounds, and a focus on both detail and goal.

When I’m not designing or animating, I’m off on adventures with my son—chasing curiosity, getting muddy, and seeing the world through his eyes. I also love travelling and sports.

Together we define your goals…

Then I turn them into clear, compelling animations that align perfectly with your strategy.

Your brand made to move across all channels

Brands are always on the move. In an ever-changing landscape, the content you share is becoming more vibrant and adaptive — from explainer videos and display channel assets on specific locations to social ads and motion branding. This dynamic approach not only boosts brand visibility but also sparks meaningful interactions. Thanks to its versatility across various platforms, your content is ready to deliver impact wherever your audience is.

Highlighted work.

Whether you want to attract more customers, strengthen your brand, or inform your audience!? I create 2D and 3D animated videos that engage, and make even the most complex stories easy to understand!

ANIMATION PRODUCTION IN 8 STEPS:

It all starts with an idea. Together we discuss the goal and the video ideas during an introductory meeting. In this conversation we will identify what the core message and who the targetgroup of the video is. This first step is completely without any obligations and free of charge.

1.IDEA

2.SCRIPT

Next the video script. The input for this comes from you, where in most cases I will write the actual script. In practice, the rule is 140 words = 1 minute of film. Only after a final approval on the script we go to step 3.

Step 3 is to record the voice-over by a professional voice actor in any desired language and tone of voice. The audio file is most of the time the guiding principle of the film in terms of pace and timing.

3.VOICE OVER (optional)

4.MUSIC (optional)

The music could also serve as a guideline for the video in terms of pace and timing. In this case the music dictates the rythm of the video as a whole. This is a choice. We could also add a subtle background piece at the end of the proces.

5.BRIEFING

During this dynamic (online) appointment we will dive deep into your story and I will present the first visual ideas based on the script. We will repeat this step until we got your story right!

In this step the storyboard is created. This is a static representation of the intended video and style. We will discuss the storyboard again in a meeting and process any feedback. For the 3D animations I will use this phase to present 3D designs and animatics.

6.STORYBOARD

7.ANIMATION

This is where the magic happens. The storyboard, art boards, 3D models (and/or animatic) are brought to life by taking care of each and every keyframe.

8.DELIVERY

You will have an unlimited amount of revision rounds. I won’t stop until you are completely satisfied with the end product. The final version can be delivered in any desired format.
